AVAX Price Prediction: Short-term Outlook

Avalanche (AVAX) is a high-performance Layer 1 blockchain platform known for its near-instant transaction finality and architecture that supports the creation of customizable subnets.

To make a short-term price prediction for AVAX, it is essential to consider both recent price movements and fundamental factors such as strategic partnerships, ecosystem development, updates from the Avalanche/Ava Labs team, institutional capital flows, and overall market trends.

Below is a summary of the most up-to-date information regarding these factors.

AVAX Price Performance Overview

AVAX has experienced a notable recovery since the beginning of 2025. As of May, the token is trading in the $24–$25 range, reflecting a 25% to 50% increase compared to early May. This marks a rebound from its decline at the start of the year, when AVAX dropped to around $19–$20, following a previous peak of nearly $60 in March 2024.

Network indicators also point to a strengthening ecosystem. The number of active addresses on Avalanche has surpassed 2 million, setting a new all-time high. Transaction volume on the network has risen by over 185%, while wallet activity has surged by 700% in the first half of 2025 – underscoring renewed user engagement and growing on-chain activity.

In the entertainment sector, the music platform EVEN – featuring artists such as J. Cole and 6LACK, has launched its own Layer 1 blockchain on Avalanche using Ava Labs’ AvaCloud service.

Meanwhile, the launch of the Avalanche Card (in collaboration with Rain and Meta) allows users in Latin America and other emerging markets to spend crypto just like a conventional Visa card.

Traditional finance is also increasingly tapping into Avalanche’s infrastructure. Japan’s SMBC bank, together with Fireblocks and TIS, has signed an agreement to explore issuing a stablecoin for B2B payments on the Avalanche network.

BlackRock’s tokenized asset fund, BUIDL – now valued at over $2 billion, has expanded to Avalanche via Securitize, making it the largest tokenized treasury fund in the world. Additionally, asset management firm VanEck is set to launch a dedicated Web3 fund focused on the Avalanche ecosystem in June 2025.

Another noteworthy development: VanEck’s tokenized treasury product VBILL (U.S. short-term T-bill deposits) has been launched on Avalanche alongside other networks. This move underscores growing institutional interest in Avalanche as a platform for real-world asset tokenization.

Avalanche Ecosystem Expansion

Avalanche is actively building across multiple verticals, including DeFi, GameFi, NFTs, and core infrastructure. In the gaming space, several large-scale titles have chosen Avalanche for deployment.

Notably, MapleStory N- with over 180 million players globally, has migrated to Avalanche’s Henesys subnet, while Pixelmon has announced plans to develop a mobile game on the Avalanche network.

The 2024 rollout of Avalanche’s Avalanche 9000 (Etna) upgrade significantly lowered the cost of launching a subnet – by as much as 90%. This reduction has led to the creation of over 100 new subnets, each tailored for specific applications, including high-performance gaming, enterprise solutions, and private networks.

In DeFi, Avalanche is expanding its support for Bitcoin-linked assets. For example, on May 16, 2025, Solv Protocol launched SolvBTC.AVAX, a synthetic BTC asset native to Avalanche. On the NFT front, FIFA Collect – FIFA’s official digital collectibles platform (NFT) is migrating to Avalanche’s Layer 1 chain, aiming to elevate the global fan experience through enhanced digital ownership.

To further onboard new users, Avalanche has partnered with Stripe to enable fiat onramps. This integration allows users to purchase AVAX directly via credit card or bank transfer. Stripe’s functionality is also embedded in the Core Wallet developed by Ava Labs, offering seamless access for users engaging with the Avalanche network.

On-chain metrics underscore this momentum. Avalanche’s total value locked (TVL) has surged into the multi-billion-dollar range, while the supply of native stablecoins (such as USDC and USDT) has grown 1.7x since March 2024 – highlighting robust capital inflow and increased network activity.

Latest Developments from Ava Labs

The Avalanche Foundation and Ava Labs- the core development team behind Avalanche, continue to roll out new initiatives aimed at accelerating adoption and developer engagement across the ecosystem.

One major highlight is the launch of Codebase Season 4, an incubation program designed to support Web3 startups building on Avalanche. The program underscores Avalanche’s commitment to nurturing early-stage innovation.

Recent announcements on Avalanche’s official blog reflect an active and strategic roadmap:

  • May 15, 2025 – Utah, a new Layer 2 built for Unity by XSY, was launched.
  • May 20, 2025 – EVEN, the music platform, deployed its own Avalanche Layer 1 chain.
  • May 22, 2025 – The FIFA Blockchain initiative was officially confirmed to be hosted on Avalanche.

Avalanche is also expanding its reach through enterprise-friendly infrastructure. Its longstanding collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), first announced in 2023, enables businesses to launch Avalanche nodes with just a few clicks. Additionally, there are plans to offer subnet deployment as a service via the AWS Marketplace.

Avalanche’s AvaCloud – launched in 2024, has also been instrumental in democratizing access to blockchain infrastructure. It allows developers and enterprises to launch custom blockchains without needing to manage complex back-end operations.

Institutional capital is increasingly flowing into the Avalanche ecosystem. Notably, VanEck is preparing to launch the PurposeBuilt Avalanche Fund, a dedicated vehicle for investing in Avalanche-native projects, managed by the VanEck Digital Assets Alpha fund.

VanEck has also introduced a leveraged ETN (exchange-traded note) based on AVAX, providing European investors easier access to Avalanche exposure, although the ETN is currently down approximately 36% year-to-date.

In summary, institutional investment in Avalanche is on the rise – targeting key sectors such as DeFi, GameFi, and real-world asset tokenization (RWA). This sustained interest is helping to lay a solid foundation for AVAX’s long-term value and short-term price stability.

Technical Analysis: Awaiting Breakout Confirmation

Currently, AVAX is caught between a key resistance at $25.75 and a broad support zone ranging from $19.44 to $14.77. The $25.75 level is the most crucial threshold to watch.

If AVAX prints a daily (D1) candle that closes decisively above this level, the price could quickly move toward $31.90. A confirmed breakout above $31.90 may then open the path to higher resistance levels at $35.70, $40.25, and even $44.13.

On the other hand, if AVAX fails to break through $25.75, there’s a risk of a downward move toward the support range between $19.44 and $15.80.

If the $15.80 support cannot hold, price could revisit the previous low around $10.68. These support zones can offer scalp-buying opportunities, but traders must manage risk tightly due to the volatility and closeness to key resistance.

AVAX Price Prediction: Short-term Oulook

If positive developments continue to emerge, such as ecosystem-wide initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, and new institutional partnerships – AVAX could maintain its upward momentum. In the near term, the token is likely to test a key resistance zone in the $27–$30 range.

Looking ahead, the potential for U.S. Federal Reserve rate cuts, particularly if confirmed in the June 2025 FOMC meeting, may serve as a broader catalyst for risk assets. Should this occur, AVAX, along with leading altcoins like SOL and ETH, could see a significant revaluation upward, supported by increased market liquidity and renewed investor confidence.

Historically, AVAX tends to mirror broader market trends. As a high-beta asset, its price often follows the performance of flagship cryptocurrencies, particularly Bitcoin. When BTC experiences sharp rallies or corrections, it often triggers capital flows into or out of altcoins – including Avalanche.

Analysts like Andre Dragosch (Wharton) have underscored this dynamic, noting that past Fed rate cuts—typically viewed as liquidity-boosting events—often fuel short-term surges in Bitcoin and Ethereum. In such scenarios, AVAX stands to benefit as it takes part in the broader altcoin rally cycle.
